Your Questions Answered

Do I pay to use the equiti's portal and services?

No, there is no cost for Financial Advisers or your clients to use the equiti service; in fact, we pay you for each successful referral! So not only are we providing you with fantastic value-add service for both you and your clients, but we also pay you in recognition of your part in the process. Please contact us for more information.

If there is no cost to me or my clients, how does equiti get paid?

At equiti, transparency and fairness guide our remuneration approach. We are paid by our vendor partners when a sale is complete, however our fees are a bit different to the usual real estate commission. We charge fixed fees, not percentages of the sale price, ensuring our focus remains on your clients' interests, not maximising sale prices.

Why it matters:
• Fixed Fees to builders: Clear, upfront charges with no surprises.
• No Commission Pressure: Our sales team are paid fixed fee per sale, promoting unbiased service. They are dedicated to providing a good outcome for clients.
• Stable Salaries: Office staff receive fixed salaries, fostering exceptional service without commission-driven pressure.

equiti are licensed under the REAA 2008 to list and sell real estate. Our goal is to seamlessly connect your clients with quality properties that meet their requirements and supports your financial advice.

How does equiti fit with my FAP compliance?

Any financial adviser can refer their clients to any other service if they believe it will add-value to the client and they can evidence that the referral is in their clients' best interests.

With property referrals, if you are a mortgage adviser (NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) - Residential Property Lending) you can refer to a property consultant/real estate agent. With your client's permission you can share their contact details and objective property criteria i.e. budget, location, purpose etc. You cannot give personalised, time-specific investment advice with regards to property. You can only advise on suitability with regards to the lending and affordability.

However, if you are an Investment Adviser (NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) - Investment Strand) you can refer to a property consultant/real estate agent and you can advise your client with regards to the suitability of any property in relation to their personal situation and how it may help them reach their predefined financial goals.

If I refer my clients to you; how can I be confident that my clients will be well looked after?

We have a comprehensive and proven client support process when purchasing a new property. equiti was created with the explicit purpose of enabling financial advisers to provide a simple, safe and fully compliant property purchasing experience for their clients. We are not owned by an associated Financial Advice Provider (FAP). We will not pass clients details on to any other business or third party.

How can I be confident that my clients are getting a 'good deal'?

The phrase 'good deal’ is relative to the client i.e. for one client it might be the best price whereas for another it might be best likelihood of capital gains.

Are all equiti listings fixed price?

Yes - that's correct - we keep real estate simple by only selling fixed price listings—no negotiations, offers, tenders, or auctions. Are all equiti listings all-inclusive packages?
